Engram sits next to the clock - a smiling face in the menu bar. You set an interval. When you’re at the machine, it may take a still (and optionally a short clip or a desktop frame). When you’re not, it waits.

The timeline is locked behind Touch ID or your Mac password. There is no account, no sync, and no server. Files live under Application Support on your Mac, the same way a local photo library would.

Pause for fifteen minutes or the rest of the day from the menu. Open Timeline when you want to look back.

Who makes Engram

Engram is built by áddet - an independent studio founded by Dominik T. in Helsinki, Finland in 2016. In Northern Sámi, áddet means “to understand.” For us that means tools and objects where daily life, research, cinematography, and software meet.
