Requirements
Engram needs a modern Mac with macOS 14 or later and a working camera (built-in or compatible external).
Install and open
- Install Engram from the Mac App Store.
- Launch Engram from Applications (or Launchpad). A face icon appears in the menu bar next to the clock.
- Click the icon to pause, snap, open your timeline, or change settings.
Permissions
macOS may ask for Camera, and optionally Microphone, Screen Recording, or Location, depending on what you enable. Grant Camera at least once or Engram cannot capture. You can change permissions later in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
Where files are saved
Captures stay only on your Mac. Open the captures folder from the Engram menu (or Finder). Engram does not upload, sync, or use a cloud account. See Privacy for details.
Redownload
Redownload Engram from your Mac App Store purchases on any Mac signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy it.
Refunds
App Store purchases follow Apple’s refund policies — request a refund through Apple. See also Terms of Sale.
Common issues
- No menu bar icon. Check Applications for Engram, open it once, and look under the clock. On newer macOS, menu bar icons can sit behind the notch — try Control Center or System Settings → Control Center → Menu Bar Only.
- Camera denied. System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → enable Engram, then quit and reopen the app.
- Nothing capturing. Open the menu and confirm Engram is not paused. Check your interval and core hours.
- Timeline empty. Captures appear after the first successful snap. Confirm the camera works in another app.
Still stuck?
Email support@addet.eu with your macOS version, Engram version (shown in the menu), and a short description of what happens.
